CASE DETAILS

Small, neat, high quality, long door, figured walnut case with flat top. Side windows to hood.Particularly well chosen book matched highly figured veneers to trunk door.Good, warm colour and patination.

DIAL DETAILS

12" breakarch brass dial with unusual, silvered, starburst centred, raised calendar ring to arch, raised silvered chapter ring with "floating" diamond half hour markers, finely matted dial centre "feathered head" spandrels and blued cut steel hands.

MOVEMENT DETAILS

High quality, 5 pillar, 8 day, well executed movement with hourly ( inside countwheel ) striking on a single bell. Trip lever to re synchronise countwheel.

MAKER DETAILS

Wm. ( William ) Gunn of Wallingford. Recorded "A Quaker, married Mary Fowler at Shutford, Oxon., on 19th May 1714."Dates recorded 1714 - 1740.
