CASE DETAILS
Well proportioned, long door, crossbanded oak case with broken arch pediment, "flying" hood columns and plain backsplats. Ogee throat moulding, shaped top to trunk door, quarter columns to trunk, canted corners to raised panel base. The whole set on shallow, shaped bracket feet.
DIAL DETAILS
11 ?" ( 11' showing ) breakarch brass dial signed Richard Corless Stockport to "rainbow" over top of arch. Moonphases to arch, four seasons spandrels, matted dial centre, subsidiary seconds dial and "square" datebox. Blued cut steel hands. Brass strip pendulum. N.B. 11" ( showing ) is an unusual size for a 8 day dial at this period, most being 12" or even 13".
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Good quality 4 pillar hourly ( rack ) striking 8 day movement with pull hour repeat.
