A very good, SMALL, well proportioned, inlaid and crossbanded, oak, 8 day, longcase clock with swan neck pediment and colourful painted dial by Edw. ( Edward ) Glase of Bridgnorth circa 1830.

CASE DETAILS

A very good, SMALL, "compact," well proportioned, early 19C, inlaid and crossbanded oak case with brass eagle/ball centred swan neck pediment, fluted "flying" hood columns, canted fluted corners to the trunk, inlays to trunk door, quarter sawn oak details and a parquetry star set into the recessed panel base. The whole set on shallow bracket feet.

DIAL DETAILS

12" breakarch colourful painted dial, blued, cut steel hands.

MOVEMENT DETAILS

Good quality 4 pillar movement with anchor escapement and hourly ( rack ) striking.

MAKER DETAILS

Edw. ( Edward ) Glase of Bridgnorth is recorded circa 1770 married 1807 with children by his wife Elizabeth : John 1805 and Mary 1807.

DATE - Dating by style, circa 1830.

HEIGHT - 81.9" ( 208 cms. ) or 79.9" ( 203 cms. ) ex. Finial.
