Good, SMALL, neat, long door, flat top, "Typically Westcountry" oak case with "pillars attached" hood door, matching hood quarter columns, plus mahogany details and crossbanding. All set on shallow bracket feet.
DIAL DETAILS
12" square engraved and silvered brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial, "sad mouth" date lunette, and cut steel lozenge hands.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Good quality, 8 day, 4 pillar movement with hourly ( rack ) striking.
MAKER DETAILS
Samuel Pearse of Axminster is recorded as advertising for an apprentice in 1806 and we know that he was listed at Lyme St. in 1830 and that his wife died in 1837.
