CASE DETAILS
Good, small, well proportioned, long door, quarter sawn oak case with cast brass spire/ball central finial to broken arch pediment. Typical "pillars attached" hood door, matching hood rear quarter columns, shaped top to trunk door and simple plain strip plinth to base. Good colour and good patination.
DIAL DETAILS
12" breakarch engraved and silvered brass dial with moonphases to arch and THE MOONS AGE engraved to a "rainbow" at top of arch. Subsidiary seconds dial and "sad mouth" date aperture. Signed Wm. Gorfin Stonehouse to dial centre. Blued cut steel hands.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
8 day, 4 pillar movement with hourly ( rack ) striking and well executed moondrive mechanism.
