A good, small, neat, long door, late 18C, 8 day, oak longcase clock with early "Wilson" painted dial and breakarch top by Jn. ( John ) Moore of Warminster.Small enough to grace any low ceilinged cottage.

CASE DETAILS

Good, small, neat, long door oak case of pleasing proportions with breakarch top, brass capped hood columns, breakarch top to trunk door and plain strip base.

DIAL DETAILS

12" breakarch early "Wilson" dial with "Jn. Moore Warminster" in gilt decorated cartouche to arch. Gilt decorations to corner spandrels. "Minutes numbered" to outer edge of chapter ring. Blued cut steel hands.

MOVEMENT DETAILS

Good quality 4 pillar movement with hourly ( rack ) striking.

Jn. ( John ) Moore of Warminster is recorded born 1755 died 1796.

DATE - Circa 1795.
