CASE DETAILS
A small, neat, nicely proportioned, oak and mahogany crossbanded case with swan neck pediment, fluted hood columns and matching trunk quarter columns. The basically oak case with mahogany crossbanding to hood, trunk door and panel in base. All set on shallow ogee bracket feet.
DIAL DETAILS
12" square painted dial with subsidiary seconds dial and "sad mouth" date aperture, Seashell decorated corner spandrels.Blued cut steel hands.Dialmaker - Kempson & Felton, Weaman St., Birmingham 1808 - 15.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Good quality, 4 pillar, 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking on a single bell.
MAKER DETAILS
Hugh Knight of Stone ( Staffordshire ). Was at Stone 1785 - 98 then to Goalgate Street, Stafford.
