12" breakarch brass dial with rare globe moon to arch with age of moon aperture below, finely matted dial centre, subsidiary seconds dial, strike/silent control at the 3 o'clock position, Chinese Chippendale style rococo spandrels, square box date aperture above the six o' clock position.Blued cut steel hands.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
High quality 8 day movement with 4 knopped pillars having restrained decoration. Well executed drive to the globe moon. Hourly ( rack ) striking

Joseph Wood is recorded "worked in Scarborough, Yorkshire, about 1760 to about 1790".
