ANTIQUE Longcase Marquetry CLOCKS
Antique marquetry clocks are arguably the most sought after and, in general terms can be the most valued types of the genre, like for like, though some, later complicated clocks by sought after makers can easily eclipse them. Earliest types ( say, 1680 - 90 ) have panelled marquetry, olivewood "oysters" as background and generally have 10"/11" square dials at this period, the smaller being earlier and with "bun" feet.
