Case | Typical early 18C, high quality "London" figured walnut case with flat top, pillars attached hood door, side windows to hood and "London" two step base.Good pale colour and patination. | |
Dial | 12" breakarch brass dial with dolphin flanked strike/silent selector to arch, subsidiary seconds dial, chapter ring with "fleur de lys" half hour markers and with name cartouche Thos. ( Thomas ) Butterfield London applied to the finely matted dial centre above the 6 o' clock position with square date box below.Feathery "Indian head" spandrels, blued, cut steel hands. Please note : The seconds hand shown is now without the spurious "tail" which was well out of period. | |
