Case | Slender, well proportioned, long door, dark green case decorated with gilt chinoiserie figures, the trunk door featuring two horse riders at the gallop, with two deer below. The base with a single horse rider "walking on." Breakarch top, side windows to hood, typical two step base. | |
Dial | 12" breakarch brass dial with engraved, silvered, convex name boss to arch Geo ( George ) Hobart London, S & N ( Strike & Not strike ) selector below, engraved and silvered chapter ring with "floating" fleur de lys half hour markers, engraved and silvered subsidiary seconds dial and date ring.Very finely matted dial centre.Blued cut steel hands. | |
Movement | Good quality 8 day movement with 5, ringed and knopped pillars. Hourly ( rack ) striking. Nice to have the Strike/Not strike facility. Brass bound weights. | |
