A very good, relatively early, long door, flat top, figured walnut, 8 day, brass dial, longcase clock with PENNY MOON AND HIGH WATER indication to arch by Wm. ( William ) Tarry of London circa 1730.

CASE DETAILS

Very good, long door, flat top, book matched, highly figured walnut case with side windows to hood, "pillars attached" hood door, breakarch top to trunk door and typical "London" two step base.

DIAL DETAILS

2" breakarch brass dial with penny moon and High Water indication to arch - a relatively rare feature on a London clock of this period.

MOVEMENT DETAILS

High quality, 5 pillar, 8 day, movement with hourly ( rack ) striking and pull hour repeat. Typical high quality "double brass" pendulum bob and brass bound weights.

MAKER DETAILS

Wm. ( William ) Tarry is recorded, a single date, 1720.

DATE - Circa 1730.
