DIAL DETAILS
12" square brass dial with scroll engraving between crown and cherub spandrels, ringing to winding holes and to centre of subsidiary seconds dial, finely matted and engraved dial centre with decoratively engraved square date box.Silvered chapter ring, seconds and date rings. Blued cut steel hands.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
High quality, hourly striking, 5 pillar, month movement with outside countwheel high up on backplate.Brass bound weights.
MAKER DETAILS
James Beverly ( sometimes spelt Beverley ) of London. Recorded born circa 1670, apprenticed June 1684 to Robert Dore ( sometimes spelt Doore ) til 1691 but not freed.Work known - bracket clock about 1695 and watch circa 1700.
