CASE DETAILS
Typical “Bristol” area mahogany case with central brass eagle/ball finial and circular fan inlays to swan neck terminations, shaped backsplats to rear of hood. Cast brass Corinthian capitals to “floating", fluted hood columns with typical cast brass feet. Fluted, canted corners to trunk flanking “long” trunk door. All set on bracket feet.
DIAL DETAILS
13” breakarch silvered brass dial with painted moonphases to arch, age of the moon indication, high water and tide times at Bristol Key, seascape to one lunation, landscape the other. The seascape featuring a colourful 4 masted sailing ship the landscape a ruined building on an estuary. Subsidiary dials for seconds and date. “Scratch back” decoration to finely engraved Ho Ho birds in dial corners and to scrolling detail in dial centre.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Good quality, 8 day movement with “deadbeat” escapement, hourly striking and pull hour repeat. Blued, cut steel hands for hours, minutes, seconds and date.
