CASE DETAILS
Rare, SMALL, pretty, well proportioned, long door, mahogany case having good flame mahogany veneers to front. Solid, plain mahogany sides. The breakarch top having small central brass finial and side windows. The hood canted corners repeated in the trunk. All set on shallow pad feet.
DIAL DETAILS
Rare 10" breakarch silvered brass dial with Strike/Silent to arch, blued, cut steel, "lozenge" hands, square date aperture above the 6 o'clock position. Signed "James Wilson" to upper dial centre and "Sweetings Alley Royal Exchange" to lower dial centre.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Very good quality "London" 5 pillar, 8 day movement, having anchor escapement and strike/silent facility. Typical "London" high quality brass strip pendulum with "double brass" bob. Brass bound eights.
