Well proportioned, long door, mahogany case with breakarch top, side windows to hood, "flying" hood columns with hood rear quarter columns, breakarch top to trunk door and raised panel two step base.

DIAL DETAILS

12" breakarch brass dial with "starry sky" MOONPHASES to arch, finely matted dial centre, subsidiary seconds dial, square date box and name in script -John Lacy Portsmouth, on applied nameplate to lower dial centre.

MOVEMENT DETAILS

High quality, 5 pillar movement with tee shaped frontplate to take the under dial moonwork. Anchor escapement with hourly ( rack ) striking.

MAKER DETAILS

John Lacy of Portsmouth is recorded "late 18C."
