Superior quality, classic "London" flame mahogany pagoda top case with 3 spire/ball finials, red "silk" backed side and central frets, brass insert " flying" hood columns and matching trunk quarter columns over a panelled two step base - lower, shaped.

12" breakarch brass dial with moonphases to arch, "dartboard" dial centre i.e. the chapters engraved on a solid disc rather than the more conventional ring, rococo spandrels ( which retain their original fire gilding ) brass lozenge hands plus matching subsidiary seconds and date dials. The dial centre engraved Spencer Y Perkins London signifying that this clock was made for the luxury export market - in this case Portugal. N.B. The moon disc features exceptional quality, very detailed scenes, between the well executed moons.

The very fine quality, superbly executed, 5 pillar, 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking and pull hour repeat. Very substantial forged steel strip pendulum and large, heavy "double brass" bob. Brass bound weights.
