CASE DETAILS
Typical, delicately proportioned, late 18C, high quality, flame mahogany, "Perth/Edinburgh" area case with cast brass finial centred swan neck pediment having red "silk" back frets under and brass paterae to terminations. Dome topped side windows to hood. Fluted "flying" good columns with matching trunk quarter columns. Shaped top to trunk door. All set on shallow bracket feet.
DIAL DETAILS
12" breakarch brass dial with "starry sky" moonphases to arch, age of moon shown in ( outer ) Arabic numerals, with High Water indication to ( Roman ) inner. Matted and engraved dial centre with subsidiary seconds dial and square date box. Blued, cut steel hands.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Good quality, 4 pillar, 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking.

Peter Robertson of Perth. There are several Robertson clockmakers recorded in Perth. They are - Andrew, Bridgend Perth circa 1790. Daniel, Perth 1845 - 55. David, Perth 1837. James, Perth 1770. Patrick, Perth 1765. Robert, Perth 1825 - 37. Robert, Perth 1893. Peter is ( as yet ) unrecorded.
