A good, small, 8 day, mahogany, Victorian longcase regulator with glazed trunk door and unusual pendulum arrangement by Andrew Warden of Greenock.

CASE DETAILS

Small mahogany long door case having glazed trunk door. Pineapple/ball centred architectural pediment with smaller pineapple finials to flanking corners. "Silk" backed decorative pierced brass frets to dial surround, the hood with canted corners, repeated in the trunk and base.

DIAL DETAILS

12" diameter painted dial with 11.5" showing - having separate subsidiary dials for seconds and hours, signed Andw. ( Andrew ) Warden Greenock to dial centre.

MOVEMENT DETAILS

Good quality, 8 day, movement with 4 knopped pillars, high count wheel train, maintaining power, fine beat adjustment to top of crutch, unusual offset drive to pendulum featuring gut linkage, unusual ( and heavy) elliptical compensating pendulum hung from the backboard.Very accurate and unusual.
