Exceptional late 18C high quality flame mahogany case with classic "London" pagoda top having red "silk" backed fret, brass flambeau finials , brass insert fluted hood columns, matching hood rear and trunk quarter columns plus side windows to hood. Very good rich colour. All set on typical "London" two step base.
DIAL DETAILS
12" breakarch brass dial with moonphases to arch, finely matted dial centre, subsidiary seconds dial, cast brass rococo spandrels, square date box and strike/silent at 3 o' clock position. Signed William Jourdain London to "rainbow" in arch. Blued cut steel hands.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
High quality 5 pillar, 8 day movement with tee shaped front plate supporting geared drive to moonphases in arch, strike/silent facility, hourly and half hourly ( passing ) strike, pull hour repeat, brass strip pendulum, and brass bound weights. An exceptional movement.
