Small, well proportioned, long door, solid, "country mahogany" case of good warm colour and patination with detachable caddy top and side windows to hood. The hood columns integral with hood door.Matching hood rear quarter columns.Plain plinth to base.Typical of the period and location.
DIAL DETAILS
12" square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, silvered subsidiary seconds dial, silvered date ring, cast brass spandrels, finely matted dial centre, square date aperture and blued cut steel hands.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Good quality, 4 knopped pillar, 8 day, weight driven movement with hourly ( rack ) striking on a single bell.
MAKER DETAILS
Jno. ( John ) Marsh of Eastry ( Kent ) recorded died in 1788.
