Small, pretty, well proportioned, flame mahogany case with brass stopped canted reeded corners to shallow ogee flat top hood the contours of which are repeated in the top of the trunk door. Typical "London" two step pannelled base.
DIAL DETAILS
9 " ( showing ) silvered brass dial with shallow ogee flat top. Shutter from bolt and shutter maintaining power covers winding square. Subsidiary seconds dial, conventional rather than separate dial regulator layout. The dial is signed "Regulator" in script across the top and "Palmer, London" to the lower dial centre.
MOVEMENT DETAILS
Good quality 8 day movement with steel pallet deadbeat escapement and 5 knopped pillars. Bolt and shutter maintaining power.
MAKER DETAILS
"Palmer, London" is too general to be able to tie this clock down to a specific maker as there were many of this name working in London during the late 18th/early 19th C.
DATE - Very late18th/early 19th C.Dating by style circa 1800.
