CASE DETAILS

Good, long door, dark blue/gilt chinoiserie case with breakarch top, typical two step base. The detail featuring figures in gardens and a mythical cat like beast. Side windows to hood.

DIAL DETAILS

12" breakarch brass dial with early "starry sky" moonphases to arch, matted dial centre, subsidiary seconds dial and square date box.Signed to "rainbow" at top of arch Henry Harrison London."Floating" half hour marks and "tramlines" to silvered chapter ring.Cast brass urn spandrels. Blued cut steel hands.

Good quality, hourly ( rack ) striking, 8 day, movement.

MAKER DETAILS

Henry Harrison of London is an unrecorded maker at this date though there is a later London maker of the same name recorded "Late 18C ?"

DATE - Pre 1750, dating by style circa 1740.

HEIGHT - 85.8" ( 218 cms. ).
