This Longcase Walnut's Maker - Thos. ( Thomas ) Martin of London.There are two possible candidates, the most likely being apprenticed to Jeremiah Martin ( himself a famous Tompion apprentice ) in May 1692 then recorded Clockmakers Company 1699 - 1714 ( Royal Exchange ) then Fleet Street 1724. The other recorded "probably dead or gone by 1696/97." So a safe bet that it's the Jeremiah Martin apprentice.

Case Exceptional quality, typically "London," chequer strung, long door, burr walnut case with breakarch top, side windows to hood, "flying" brass insert hood pillars and typical London two step base.
Dial 12" breakarch brass dial with "starry sky" PENNY MOONPHASE to arch, "floating" half hour markers to Roman chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial, square datebox and blued cut steel hands.
Movement High quality, 5 pillar, 8 day movement - all pillars knopped and finned, the central pillar, latched.Anchor escapement, hourly ( rack ) striking.
