Case A very good, long door, burr and figured walnut case with breakarch top, side windows to hood, "pillars attached" hood door, breakarch top to trunk door and book match panelled two step base, the lower, shaped.
Dial 12" breakarch brass dial with "starry sky" MOONPHASES to arch, scroll engraving to arch and moon humps, silvered chapter ring with "floating" half hour markers plus subsidiary seconds dial having "banana slot" within, indicating High Water at Woodbridge Haven - a most unusual format, personally never seen before. Finely matted dial centre. Conventional date box above 6 o'clock position and engraved signature, Jno. Calver Woodbridge to applied plaque, lower dial centre. Feathery head spandrels, blued, cut steel hands, brass bound weights and "double brass" pendulum bob.
Movement High quality, 8 day, 5 pillar movement with tee shaped frontplate to accommodate the geared drive moonwork. Hourly ( rack ) striking.
