Case Long door, rare yew wood case with eagle ball centred swan neck pediment, fluted hood columns with matching trunk quarter columns, the fluting repeated in the base canted corners.All set on shaped shallow bracket feet.The only yew wood longcase clock that I've ever seen.Very rare.
Dial 13" breakarch brass dial with moonphases to arch, the dial centre superbly engraved with a team of two horses "bringing in the sheaves" on a large farm hay wagon to a barn, setting sun in the background.Feathered head cast brass spandrels, "sad mouth" date indicator, blued cut steel hands.
Movement Good quality, 4 pillar, 8 day, movement with hourly ( rack ) striking.

Date Circa 1770.
Height 90.9" ( 231 cms. ) or 86.8" ( 220.5 cms. ) ex. finial.
